Quick answer
Fitting-only is for when you've already bought (or are about to buy) your flooring and just need it fitting. Tell us the flooring type and product, the rooms, the subfloor and whether the old floor needs removing, and we'll quote to fit it across Burton-on-Trent. Sending photos and the product details helps us give a more accurate estimate.
If you've bought your flooring online or in-store, or plan to, our fitting-only service covers the installation. It's a good route when you've already chosen a specific product or found a deal and simply need skilled fitting.
The key to an accurate fitting-only quote is detail: the exact product, the quantities, the rooms and the subfloor. Some products have particular installation requirements, and the amount of preparation needed varies a lot — so the more you can tell us, the better.
Who this is for
- Homeowners who bought flooring online or in a sale
- People who've been supplied flooring but not fitting
- Landlords with a preferred product to install across a property
- Anyone confident in their product choice who needs a fitter
Suitable applications
- Carpet, laminate, sheet vinyl and LVT you've supplied
- Single rooms, stairs and landings, or whole properties
- Existing homes, rentals and new-build properties
What's included
- Fitting of the flooring you provide
- Advice on whether your product and quantities look right
- Trims, thresholds and finishing as agreed
- Preparation as specified in the quotation
What isn't automatically included
- Supplying the flooring, underlay or trims (that's supply-and-fit)
- Making good shortfalls if too little flooring was ordered
- Uplift, disposal and subfloor preparation unless quoted
- Responsibility for faults in flooring supplied by others
What we need to give you an estimate
- The flooring type and the exact product/brand if known
- How much you have, and the rooms it's for
- The subfloor type and its condition
- Whether the old floor needs lifting and removing
- Whether the flooring has been delivered yet
Before you buy, if you can
If you haven't bought yet, it's worth talking to us first. Ordering the right quantity — including waste — and a product suited to your subfloor avoids the two most common problems with fitting-only jobs: running short, and buying something that needs more preparation than expected. Our guide on whether to buy flooring before finding a fitter covers this.
What to check when your flooring arrives
- That the quantity matches what was ordered, including a waste allowance
- That all packs are the same batch/dye lot where relevant
- That the product is undamaged and the right specification
- That any required underlay, trims and fixings are included
Honest limitations
We can't be responsible for flooring supplied by others — if a product is faulty or there isn't enough of it, that sits with the supplier. We'll always flag concerns before fitting.
Preparation needs are assessed at the measure and quoted separately, so a fitting-only price isn't just a 'per square metre' figure.
